Are 28 Litsea’s products vegan?

Top Note Body Oil and Blended With Flowers Exfoliant for Body are vegan products. Petala Balm, Tinted Petala and Melted Balm contain beeswax.

How is 28 Litsea working to be sustainable and eco-friendly?

It is very important to take steps to be environmentally sustainable. We are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and protect the environment.

Top Note Body Oil and Melted Balm are housed in light-protective Miron glass and can be recycled. Our lip balm tubes are made of Polypropylene, which is more environmentally friendly than some other plastics. It’s recyclable (#5) and BPA free. However, we are always on the look out for better options that are still compatible with our lip balm formula.

Bended With Flowers Exfoliant For Body is packaged in PCR - post consumer recycled. It is made from PET water bottles and soda bottles that are collected and reprocessed into new packaging. It is an exciting way to recycle materials that might have otherwise ended up in landfills.

When it comes to packaging and shipping, our goal is to reduce, reuse and recycle whenever possible. When shipping wholesale orders, we always reuse boxes and packing paper that we receive from our vendors. Packages to customers are always packed with the least amount of paper and in recyclable boxes. If we receive packing material from wholesalers that we can’t use, we recycle these materials by bringing them to shipping vendors (UPS or USPS) which in turn use in their shipping process.

How do you source your ingredients?

We source the highest quality natural and organic ingredients. We have built relationships with our suppliers to ensure that the ingredients in our products are pure and sourced ethically.

Do you you use synthetic fragrance in your products?

Our scents are derived from a variety of essential oils - never synthetic fragrance or phthalates. Our essential oil vendor, with whom we’ve had a longstanding relationship, has an in-house laboratory set-up for GC-MS analysis of essential oils. Essential oils used in our products are always diluted according to proper guidelines and dilution rates.

Is your brand cruelty free?

Absolutely! We proudly display the PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies Logo.

What makes your balms so creamy?

Our creamy, long lasting, balms get their nourishing properties from the star ingredient Babassu Oil. This superior oil is light-weight, melts on contact and is able to quickly lock in moisture.

How does Tinted Petala get its color?

In Love gets its tint from alkanet root. It provides a wash of color that shows up differently on each person depending on your natural lip color. Check out the swatch under Tinted Petala.
